Abstract:
A battery (1) comprises: a power generation element (5) that has a structure that is formed by layering a plurality of power generation layers (100) and a plurality of collectors (50); and a counter electrode terminal (31). Each of the plurality of power generation layers (100) is sandwiched between two adjacent collectors (50) from among the plurality of collectors (50). The plurality of collectors (50) do not contact each other. At least one collector (50) from among the plurality of collectors (50) has: a protruding part (51) that protrudes beyond end surfaces (80) of the power generation layers (100) at a side surface part (11) of the power generation element (5); and a layering part (55) that is where the plurality of power generation layers (100) are layered. When the protruding part (51) and the layering part (55) are projected onto a projection plane (P1) that is orthogonal to the principal surfaces of the plurality of power generation layers (100), the projected area of the protruding part (51) is larger than the projected area of the layering part (55). The counter electrode (31) is connected to a principal surface of the protruding part (51).
