Abstract:
A battery-type lighter that is thin and excellent in portability and is capable of being used as an advertisement medium. The lighter has a thin flat case (2), a sheet-like battery (3) placed in the case (2), a resistor wire heat-producing portion (4) connected to the battery, and a power source switch (5) for connecting and shutting off electric conduction to the heat-producing portion (4). The flat case (2) has a slide member (6) for opening and closing an igniting window (21) opened at a position to which the heat-producing portion (4) faces, and an operation button (51) for operating the power source switch (5). While the slide member (6) closes the igniting window (21), portion of the slide member (6) is present between contacts of the power source switch (5), invalidating the operation of the operation button (51). The power source switch (5) can be closed by operating the operation switch (51) with the igniting window (21) opened.
