Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for desiliconization of bauxite, comprising the steps of: mixing the bauxite with an alkali solution to prepare a reaction slurry, wherein the liquid-solid ratio of the reaction slurry is 2 to 50; reacting the reaction slurry in a microwave reactor to dissolve the silicon at a reaction temperature of 10 - 130 ℃ for a reaction time of 2 - 220min; after the reaction, performing a solid-liquid separation for the reaction mixture, the resulting liquid phase being a silicon-containing solution with a SiO 2 content of 0.3 ~ 50 g/L. This method performs the desiliconization in a microwave reactor, and achieves efficient dissolution of silicon in bauxite in a short time by determining the liquid-solid ratio in the reaction slurry, the reaction temperature and the reaction time. The method can realize the purification and recovery of silicon minerals in the bauxite such that to prevent red mud from entering, thus greatly reducing the amount of red mud produced in the alumina production.
