Abstract:
A technique allowing low-concentration target molecules to be detected with high sensitivity is provided. The present invention includes: a bead introduction step for introducing a hydrophilic solvent (42) that contains beads (40), (41') into a space (30) between a lower-layer section (10) and an upper-layer section (20), the lower-layer section having a plurality of receptacles (13) capable of receiving only one of the beads (41), (41'), the receptacles being formed at a distance from each other by side walls (12) having hydrophobic upper surfaces, and the upper-layer section (20) facing that surface of the lower-layer section (10) in which the receptacles (13) are formed; and a hydrophobic solvent introduction step for introducing a hydrophobic solvent (43) into the space (30) following the bead introduction step.
