Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a bearing device adapted for use in a wheel and provided with a rotational speed detection device, the bearing device having improved hermetic sealing properties.
[Solution] A cap (33) is mounted to an outer member (32), and the cap (33) is provided with: a cylindrical fitting section (33a) press fitted in the inner periphery of the inner end section of the outer member (32); a circular plate section (14c) extending inward in the radial direction from the fitting section (33a) and facing a pulser ring (11) with a small axial gap therebetween; and a bottom section (14e) extending from the circular plate section (14c) through a bent section (14d) and covering the inner end section of an inner member (31). The cap (33) is coated with an anti-rust coating. A rotational speed sensor (18) provided close to the circular plate section (14c) so as to face the pulser ring (11) with the cap (33) therebetween. The air gap (A) between the cap (33) and the rotational speed sensor (18) is set to be in the range from 0.3 to 1.0 mm.
