Abstract:
Provided is a bearing device for a vehicle wheel in which the bearing device for a vehicle wheel is reduced in weight, face deflection accuracy of a vehicle-wheel-mounted flange is increased to minimize the occurrence of brake judder, and reliability is improved. A bearing device for a vehicle wheel in which hub bolts 6a for fastening a vehicle wheel are embedded at equidistant circumferential intervals in a vehicle-wheel-mounted flange 6, wherein an annular groove 7a encompassing the hub bolts 6a is formed in an outer side surface 7 of the vehicle-wheel-mounted flange 6, the side surface 7 of the vehicle-wheel-mounted flange 6 is a machined surface that is machined after the hub bolts 6a have been press-fitted, circular holes 13 for weight reduction are formed between the hub bolts 6a of the vehicle-wheel-mounted flange 6, a circumcircle diameter A of the circular holes 13 is set greater than the outside diameter B of the annular groove 7a, and muddy water, etc., infiltrating the circular holes 13 is therefore easily discharged from the circular holes 13 without accumulating between the outer side surface 7 of the vehicle-wheel-mounted flange 6 and a side surface of a brake disk.
