Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a bearing device for a wheel with a rotational speed detecting device, which achieves an improvement in the sealing performance of a detecting unit and an improvement in the reliability of a sensor. An attachment portion 17 of a cover main body 15 is formed from an insertion portion 17a in which a blind insertion hole 22 with a bottom portion is formed, and a cylindrical securing portion 17b to which a rotational speed sensor is secured by means of a securing bolt, with the interposition of an attachment member. The insertion portion 17a is disposed in a horizontal position passing through the center of a bottom portion 15c of the cover main body 15. The securing portion 17b is disposed vertically below the insertion portion 17a, and the rotational speed sensor and a pulser ring oppose one another with the interposition of a bottom portion 22a of the insertion hole 22. A discharge portion 24 comprising a slit or discharge groove is formed extending in an axial direction on the road surface side of the insertion hole 22, thereby allowing the insertion hole 22 to communicate with the outside.
