Abstract:
Provided is a benzazole derivative that effectively absorbs a high-energy external light source in a UV region so as to minimize damage to organic materials inside an organic electroluminescent device, thereby contributing to a substantial improvement in the lifespan of the organic electroluminescent device. The organic electroluminescent device according to the present invention comprises: a first electrode; a second electrode; one or more organic material layers interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode; and a capping layer, wherein the organic material layer or the capping layer includes the benzazole derivative represented by Chemical Formula 1 of the present invention.
