Abstract:

A benzene derivative having a structure represented by the general formula (I) (wherein R¹ represents substituted phenyl; R² represents alkanoyl, alkylsulfonyl, or optionally substituted arylsulfonyl; R³ represents optionally substituted carbamoyl or optionally substituted sulfamoyl; and A represents a single bond or alkylene) or a pharmacologically acceptable salt of the derivative. These compounds have excellent LDL oxidation inhibitory activity and ACAT inhibitory activity. They are useful as a therapeutic or preventive agent for hyperlipemia or arteriosclerotic diseases.
