Description:
A BIDET SYSTEM

Subject of the Invention

The invention relates to a bidet system, which aims at eliminating the infection risk especially for the female users by conveying the water needed during the cleansing from the front side of the toilet in such a way that the incident angle of the water is adjustable.

State of the Art

Restoring the personal hygiene after the use of a toilet is of great importance from the perspective of health. While it is possible to provide the hygiene by means of the cleansing papers, the use of water is also an option preferred by a great number of users. For cleansing with water, the bidet systems are used. When the bidet system is activated, the water flows via the bidet system hose to the bidet nozzle outlet located in the bowl of the ceramic sanitary ware.

According to the state of the art, the bidet nozzle is positioned in the back part of the toilet in such a way that the direction of water flow will be frontward from the rear. When the user sits on the toilet seat, the bidet nozzle remains behind the user. When the need arises to cleanse, the bidet system is activated to enable the water to flow out from said bidet nozzle. With a cleansing process performed in this direction, the fecal residues are carried frontward from the rear region as a result of the force applied by the water during the cleansing. This poses a risk from the health point of view and may result in urinary tract infections especially in the female users.

According to the state of the art, the systems were developed, which are mounted to the toilet cover in the rear part of the said cover and which supply water by means of a bidet nozzle protruding from the rear part of the toilet cover when needed, in order to avoid these problems. Even though such systems have a separate washing function for the female users, the water output is still provided frontward from the rear, only by changing the angle of water. In this way, it is not possible to preclude said problem and the risk of infection still exists.

As a result, the presence of the problems mentioned above and the inadequacy of the existing solutions have made it necessary to provide an innovation in the relevant art. With this invention, a bidet system is developed, which aims at eliminating the infection risk especially for the female users by providing the water needed during the cleansing from the front side of the toilet and in an angled manner according to preference.

Object of the Invention An object of the invention is to develop a bidet system, which provides the water needed by a user for cleansing rearward from the front side of the toilet.

Another object of the invention is to develop a bidet system, which prevents the carryover of the fecal residues into the urinary tract and which reduces the risk of urinary tract infections owing to the rearward flow of water from the front.

Another object of the invention is to develop a bidet system, in which the incident angle of water is enabled to be adjusted owing to the rotatable structure of the bidet nozzle and which provides comfortable cleansing especially for the female users.

Another object of the invention is to develop a bidet system, which is fixed to the toilet surface and which is not affected by a likely toilet cover replacement.

The structural and characteristic features and all the advantages of the invention will be understood more clearly from the figures provided below and the detailed description written with reference to these figures. Accordingly, the evaluation should be made taking these figures and detailed description into consideration.

Detailed Description of the Invention The invention relates to a bidet system, which aims at eliminating the infection risk especially for the female users by conveying the water needed during the cleansing from the ceramic sanitary ware front surface (Y2) in such a way that the incident angle of the water is adjustable.

The system developed within the scope of the invention comprises at least one bidet nozzle (2) enabling the water required for cleansing to be conveyed to the user in the desired direction, at least one movement limiting member (4) preventing the movement of the bidet nozzle (2) in an undesired direction and permitting the movement of the same only within the permitted limits, and at least one body (1) on which the movement limiting member (4) is positioned.

In this detailed description, the preferred alternatives of the bidet system according to the invention are described only to enable a better understanding of the subject matter, without leading to any limiting effect.

The bidet system according to the invention is fixed to a ceramic sanitary ware (8) in such a way that the bidet nozzle (2) faces the ceramic sanitary ware rear surface (Yl), i.e. it remains in front of the user during the use. Within the scope of the invention, said ceramic sanitary ware (8) is preferably, but not limited to, a toilet. At least one body seat (81), in which said system is to be positioned, is located on the said side of the ceramic sanitary ware (8).

At least one body (1) is positioned on the body seat (81). The body (1) enables the bidet nozzle (2) to be guided in the desired direction in addition to serving as a bearing for said bidet nozzle (2).

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the bidet system comprises at least one body (1) and at least one body lower section (15) together. The body (1) is the component visible to the user and includes the bidet nozzle seat (13). The second component, the body lower section (15), is positioned below the body (1) and contacts via its bottom surface the ceramic sanitary ware (8) to which it is mounted. The body (1) and the body lower section (15) are fixed to one another by means of the connection members (3) that secure the body (1) to the ceramic sanitary ware (8) or, alternatively, via engagement of the tab structures they contain. The body (1) and/or the body lower section (15) is/are manufactured preferably via the plastic injection method.

The body (1) has at least one convex surface (12) and the bidet nozzle (2) is positioned on the said convex surface (12). The convex surface (12), owing to said form it has, permits the angle of the bidet nozzle (2) to be changed.

On the convex surface (12), there is present at least one bidet nozzle seat (13) on which the bidet nozzle (2) is to be positioned. The bidet nozzle (2) is fitted to the body (1) from outside said body (1). It is passed through the bidet nozzle seat (13) and fixed to the hose (6) inside the body (1). The bidet nozzle (2) is supported in the bidet nozzle seat (13). During the use, the user is able to move the bidet nozzle (2) along the horizontal and/or vertical axis, whenever they desire. Since the bidet nozzle (2) is positioned on a curved surface, i.e. on the convex surface (12), said movements are realized without any other bearing member being necessary. The bidet nozzle (2) comprises the bidet nozzle extensions (21) on its outside, preferably surrounding said bidet nozzle (2). Said bidet nozzle extensions (21) serve the function of a screen in front of the interior portions of the body (1) when the bidet nozzle (2) is moved to adjust the angle, hiding the exposed interior portion from the view. In this way, the development of an unpleasing appearance is avoided during the use.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, said bidet nozzle extensions (21) have surfaces compatible with the convex surface (12) and enable the bidet nozzle (2) to perform its movement on the body (1), more specifically on the convex surface (12), without running into any obstacle.

The invention comprises at least one movement limiting member (4) preventing the movement of the bidet nozzle (2) in an undesired direction and permitting the movement of the same only within the permitted limits. The movement limiting member (4) is positioned on the connection between the bidet nozzle (2) and the hose (6) used to convey the water from the plumbing to said bidet nozzle (2) and is positioned inside the body (1). One side of the movement limiting member (4) has the same geometry as the hose (6) and hence as the section where the bidet nozzle (2) is fitted to said hose (6). Owing to its geometry, the hose (6) is enabled to be tightened on the bidet nozzle (2). By this means, said end of the movement limiting member (4) also serves the function of a sealing member. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, said end does not have an enclosed geometry. The side of the movement limiting member (4) where said member does not contact the bidet nozzle (2) has at least one, preferably two extensions (42). The reason for the movement limiting member (4) to have these extensions (42) is to prevent the hose (6) from being secured by an extent that is more than necessary. In order to both ensure that the water flow is not interrupted and that the hose (6) does not experience damage, it is not desirable that the hose (6) is bent during the movement. Owing to the extensions (42), the hose (6) is able to freely move between said extensions (42). Said extensions (42) are in contact with the hose (6) and there is present at least one pin (41) on each extension (42) that the movement limiting member (4) contains. Said pins (41) extend outward from the center of the movement limiting member (4). Owing to at least one gap/slit contained in the end of the movement limiting member (4) that does not include a pin (41), the mounting and demounting of the movement limiting member (4) become easier.

The body (1) comprises at least one, preferably two channels (14), which enable the movement of the bidet nozzle (2) to be limited. Said channels (14) are positioned opposite one another on the body (1) and the pins (41) present in the movement limiting member (4) penetrate said channels (14). In this way, the movement limiting member (4) is positioned on the body (1) such that it is able to perform the permitted movement. It is desired that the bidet nozzle (2) is rotated about only a certain axis when adjusting the incident angle of water. While said movement could take place in the right-left and/or up- down direction, it is also possible to choose any angle between these directions. However, it is not desirable that the bidet nozzle (2) moves forward, i.e. towards the ceramic sanitaryware rear surface (Yl) as a result of the force applied during the adjustment, because this movement does not adjust direction and may further cause damage to the connection between the bidet nozzle (2) and the hose (6). When the pins (41) contained in the movement limiting member (4) are engaged in the channels (14), the hose (6) and/or the bidet nozzle (2) is/are prevented from being dislocated during the adjustment of the angle of the bidet nozzle (2). Accordingly, the hose (6) is prevented from performing movements in an uncontrolled manner that could damage the connection between the bidet nozzle (2) and said hose (6) and/or could cause the dislocation of the bidet nozzle (2), when said bidet nozzle (2) is moved in any direction. Within this limited range of movement, the bidet nozzle (2) is able to perform an arc-shaped movement in the desired direction owing to the convex surface (12) located on the body (1).

Within the scope of the invention, the effect provided by means of the movement limiting member (4) and the channels (14) present in the body (1) may also be provided using a hinge.

A preferred embodiment of the invention comprises at least one connection member (3). There is present at least one connection member seat (11) preferably on the top surface of the body (1). The connection between the body (1) and the ceramic sanitary ware (8), or, the connections between the body (1) and the body lower section (15) and between the body lower section (15) and the ceramic sanitary ware (8) are provided by means of said connection members (3). These components are fixed together via the connection member (3). In the embodiments where the body (1) and the body lower section (15) are preferred to be present together, both the body (1) and the body lower section (15) preferably comprise the same number of connection member seats (11, 151). In order to ensure fixing to the ceramic sanitary ware (8), the ceramic sanitary ware (8) also preferably comprises the same number of fixing member seats (82) as that for the body (1).

A preferred embodiment of the invention comprises at least one fixing member (5). Positioned in the fixing member seat (82), the fixing member (5) secures the connection member (3) from the opposite side, thereby enabling said connection member (3) to be tightened from the bottom surface of the body (1), i.e. enabling a more robust mounting procedure to be achieved.

Within the scope of the invention, the preferred connection members (3) include but are not limited to bolts, while the preferred fixing members (5) include but are not limited to dowels.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, at least one cover (7) is positioned on each of the connection members (3). The cover (7) is used for the purpose of preventing the connection members (3) from being visible from the outside and may have any form capable of avoiding the unpleasing appearance.

When the mounting procedure is completed for the invention, the overall view provided in Figure 2 is obtained.

In order for the hose (6) carrying the water to be able to convey the water to the bidet system according to the invention, it is necessary that the ceramic sanitary ware (8) comprises at least one hole through which said hose (6) may pass. Many methods are available to obtain said hole. Said hole may be made before as well as after firing the ceramic sanitary ware (8). The hose (6) is passed through said hole and is used such that one end thereof extends to the bidet nozzle (2) and the other end thereof extends to the plumbing.

While it is possible to use said system manually with the help of a bidet tap depending on preference, it may be also turned on and off automatically, preferably via a solenoid valve.

At least one bidet system may be present on both the ceramic sanitary ware front surface (Y2) and the ceramic sanitary ware rear surface (Yl). Depending on the preference, the bidet system present on the rear side of the ceramic sanitary ware (8) and the bidet system according to the invention may be connected to the same water installation and/or to different water installations and/or may be connected to the same bidet tap or to different bidet taps.

With the system according to the invention, it is aimed to develop a bidet system, which is located on the ceramic sanitary ware front surface (Y2) and in which the incident angle of water may be adjusted, with a view to provide a more hygienic and health ambience especially for the female users.
