Abstract:
The present invention relates to the field of biotechnology. Disclosed are a bifunctional fusion protein, a method for preparing same, and use thereof. The bifunctional fusion protein comprises a VEGF antagonist fragment and a TGF-β antagonist fragment. The VEGF antagonist fragment comprises SEQ ID NOs. 1 and 2 or a polypeptide fragment having 90% or greater sequence identity thereto, and the TGF-β antagonist fragment comprises SEQ ID NO. 3 or a polypeptide fragment having 90% or greater sequence identity thereto. The present invention further provides a method for preparing the bifunctional protein and use of the bifunctional protein in preparing a medicament for treating a disease associated with VEGF and/or TGF-β expression. The bifunctional protein of the present invention is less susceptible to fragmentation in a purification process, and features greatly improved purification efficiency, reduced production cost, and good stability in efficacy and pharmaceutics, thus being prospective in a variety of applications.
