Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a bill counter which is of the type capable of counting bills without transferring the bills, and which allows reductions in equipment size and weight as well as in cost. The bill counter (1) according to the present invention is provided with a rotatable mounting base (20), a counting means for counting a stack of bills, and a motor (110) for transmitting a drive force to the mounting base (20) and the counting means, said bill counter (1) being further provided with a drive force transmission mechanism in which: both a timing pulley (210) with a one-way clutch, which is connected to the mounting base (20) and serves as a first drive force transmission member, and a timing pulley (310) with a one-way clutch, which is connected to the counting means and serves as a second drive force transmission member, are coupled to the motor (110) via a common coupling belt; and when the motor (110) is rotating in either the normal or reverse direction, the first drive force transmission member is driven by the rotation of the motor (110) so as to transmit a drive force, whereas when the motor (110) is rotating in the other direction, the second drive force transmission member is driven by the rotation of the motor (110) so as to transmit a drive force.
