Abstract:
A bill processing device (100) is provided with a taking-in unit (101) on which a plurality of batches of media to be processed are stacked and mounted, wherein each batch includes a stacked bills per processing unit and partition cards stacked at the end portion in a stacking direction of the bills and the taking-in unit (101) takes the media in one by one in order; an identification unit (111) that identifies the media; a first reject unit (102a) that stacks reject bills and the partition cards corresponding to the same batch as that of the reject bills; a second reject unit (102b) that stacks the partition cards corresponding to batches in which the reject bills are not contained; a plurality of stack units (106) that carry out sectional stacks of the bills which are identified by the identification unit and which are based on their kinds; a temporary holding unit (112) that receives the reject bills and the partition cards corresponding the same batches as those of the reject bills and that sends them out in their receiving order or in its reverse order; a carrying unit (114) that carries the media taken in by the taking-in unit through the identification unit either to the second reject unit or to the plurality of the stack units, or to the temporary holding unit and that carries the reject bills and the partition cards sent out from the temporary holding unit through the identification unit to any of the first reject unit, the second reject unit, and the plurality of the stack units; and a control unit (130) that controls the carrying unit based on the identification result of the identification unit.
