Abstract:
A purpose of the present invention is to provide a binder composition for a non-aqueous rechargeable battery electrode in which a slurry composition for a non-aqueous rechargeable battery electrode can be prepared with the binder composition, the slurry composition exhibiting excellent dispersibility, and the binder composition can enable an electrode mixture layer to have an excellent adhesive property and flexibility. In the present invention, the binder composition for a non-aqueous rechargeable battery electrode contains a polymer X. The polymer X contains 3 mass% or more but less than 10 mass% of an acid-group-containing monomer unit, 55-90 mass% of a hydroxyl-group-containing acrylic acid ester monomer unit, and 5-30 mass% of a hydroxyl-group-containing methacrylic acid ester monomer unit. The total content of the hydroxyl-group-containing acrylic acid ester monomer unit and the hydroxyl-group-containing methacrylic acid ester monomer unit is 60-97 mass% of the polymer X. The weight average molecular weight of the polymer X is equal to or greater than 50,000 but is less than 500,000.
