Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a binder composition for nonaqueous secondary batteries, which is able to form a functional layer on a battery member such as an electrode and a separator, said functional layer being capable of achieving a good balance between excellent handling properties and process adhesiveness. A binder composition for nonaqueous secondary batteries according to the present invention contains: polymer particles that contain a block polymer having a block region that is composed of an aromatic vinyl monomer unit; a water-soluble polymer that has a hydrophilic group; and water. The diblock content of the block polymer is from 0% by mass to 60% by mass (inclusive); and the weight average molecular weight of the water-soluble polymer is from 15,000 to 500,000 (inclusive).
