Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a binder-containing inorganic fiber molded body which is capable of suppressing fiber scattering when the basis weight is high and the binder content is low. The present invention provides a binder-containing inorganic fiber molded body obtained by containing a binder in an inorganic fiber molded body, wherein: the basis weight of the inorganic fiber molded body is more than 2,600 g/m2; the binder content is 0.01-2.24 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the inorganic fiber molded body; and when a shaking test is performed such that a 50-mm square binder-containing inorganic fiber molded body is put into a sieve having a mesh size of 4 mm, and the sieve is shaken through a vertical reciprocal shaking method under the conditions of a shaking amplitude of 2 mm, a shaking speed of 3,000 reciprocations/min, and a vibration time of 10 min, the weight loss rate of the binder-containing inorganic fiber molded body before and after the shaking test is 1.0% or less.
