Abstract:
The present invention provides a binder for electrodes, the binder being capable of improving the toughness of a binder coating film and the cycle characteristics of a secondary battery which comprises a secondary battery negative electrode containing a silicon-based active material. The present invention also provides: a composition for secondary battery negative electrode mixture layers, the composition containing the above-described binder; a secondary battery negative electrode which is obtained using this composition; and a secondary battery. The present invention provides a binder for electrodes of secondary batteries that comprise a secondary battery negative electrode containing a silicon-based active material, the binder for electrodes containing a carboxyl group-containing polymer or a salt thereof (hereinafter referred to as "polymer (A)") and a hydroxyl group-containing polymer which may contain a carboxy group or a salt thereof (meanwhile, the hydroxyl group-containing polymer is different from "polymer (A)" and is hereinafter referred to as "polymer (B)").
