Abstract:
This binding member removal device (1) comprises a staple removal unit (5), an imaging unit (7), a removal driving unit (6), and a control unit (10). The staple removal unit (5) removes from a bound medium a binding member which binds the bound medium. The imaging unit (7) captures an image showing a binding region which is a portion of the bound medium. That is, the imaging unit (7) captures an image of the binding region of the bound medium so that the image does not show the other portion of the bound medium, which is different from the binding region. The removal driving unit (6) moves the staple removal unit (5). The control unit (10) controls the removal driving unit (6) on the basis of the image so that the staple removal unit (5) is disposed at a predetermined position corresponding to the binding position where the binding member is disposed.
