Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a biocompatible long-fiber nonwoven fabric including, as the main component, a biocompatible polymer, wherein biocompatible long fibers constituting the biocompatible long-fiber nonwoven fabric have a fiber diameter that varies in the longitudinal direction, have fiber intersections being partially welded thereto, do not sag even when wet, and become transparent when wet. This biocompatible long-fiber nonwoven fabric can be prepared by extruding, into the air, a spinning liquid containing a biocompatible polymer through a nozzle discharge port 3, jetting a pressure liquid 7 forward from a fluid jet orifice 5 that is not in contact with the nozzle discharge port 3 and that is located rearward of the nozzle discharge port 3, letting the extruded spinning liquid accompany the pressure fluid 7 to undergo fiber formation, and then accumulating long fibers 8 resulting from the fiber formation into a long-fiber nonwoven fabric 9. With such a configuration, the present invention provides: a biocompatible long-fiber nonwoven fabric having high forming stability and formability useful for medical applications, cell culturing scaffolds, and the like; a production method therefor; a three-dimensional scaffold for cell culturing; and a cell culturing method using same.
