Abstract:
The present invention according to an embodiment provides a biodegradable composite fiber comprising 40-70 wt% of a core portion containing polypropylene and 30-60 wt% of a sheath portion containing polyethylene. According to the present invention, the fiber is prepared by combining a raw material and an oxidizing biodegradation agent under specific conditions, which can lead to a polyolefin fiber having biodegradability. Furthermore, the inclusion of PHA can achieve an increase in the initial biodegradation rate to reduce the biodegradation time. Furthermore, by a higher content of PHA in the core portion than in the sheath portion and a higher content of the oxidizing biodegradation agent in the sheath portion than in the core portion, the polyolefin fiber can be provided wherein the sheath portion is accelerated in the initial oxidative degradation and imparted with hydrophilic properties and the core portion is quickly biodegraded due to degradation characteristics of PHA.
