Abstract:
The present invention proposes a biomass modification system and a biomass modification method that are able to achieve an industrially feasible efficiency level. Provided is a biomass modification system characterized by comprising: a first process for pulverizing herbaceous biomass, immersing the pulverized herbaceous biomass in water at normal pressure, dewatering the herbaceous biomass, separating the herbaceous biomass into dewatering-derived water and dewatered chips for extraction, and extracting the dewatering-derived water which contains potassium at a high concentration; a second process for mixing the dewatered chips with calcium carbonate; and a third process for desiccating the dewatering-derived water by burning a part of the dewatered chips mixed with calcium carbonate, and extracting a fertilizer in a solid form. Also provided is a biomass modification method which is characterized by comprising the steps for: pulverizing herbaceous biomass; immersing the pulverized herbaceous biomass in water at normal pressure; dewatering the herbaceous biomass; separating the herbaceous biomass into dewatered chips and dewatering-derived water containing potassium at a high concentration; mixing the dewatered chips with calcium carbonate; desiccating the dewatering-derived water by burning a part of the dewatered chips mixed with calcium carbonate; and extracting a fertilizer in a solid form.
