Abstract:
Provided is a biometric authentication system having: an image input unit for acquiring a taken image of a living body; a storage unit for storing registration information relating to a plurality of biological features acquired from a biological area of an image of each person; and an authentication processing unit for performing biometric authentication based on the registration information by processing the biological area of the image acquired by the image input unit. The plurality of biological features acquired from the biological area of each person are a plurality of biological features having a low pattern correlation with each other. The authentication processing unit preforms the biometric authentication by combining the plurality of biological features having the low pattern correlation with each other, which are acquired by processing the image.
