Abstract:
A method for preparing a bismuth telluride thermoelectric material, which belongs to the technical field of thermoelectric materials. The method comprises the following steps: step 1, weighing out elemental Bi, Te and Se powders as raw materials according to the chemical formula X w/Bi 2Te 2.7-wSe 0.3 of an N-type bismuth telluride material, or weighing out elemental Bi, Sb and Te powders as raw materials according to the chemical formula X w/Bi 0.5-wSb 1.5Te 3 of a P-type bismuth telluride material, wherein X is a doping element, and w is the stoichiometric ratio of the doping element X with a range of 0≤w≤0.1; step 2, uniformly mixing the raw materials, and then placing same into a ball milling tank equipped with a plasma generator for high-energy ball milling; and step 3, transferring the ball-milled powder in the tank body into a sintering mold under an inert gas for sintering, which is carried out twice, and then cooling same to obtain the bismuth telluride thermoelectric material. The method involves the preparation of a high-performance bismuth telluride material by means of combining plasma ball milling and spark plasma sintering technologies for the first time, wherein same has a high speed, a controllable powder composition, and a low energy consumption, and is suitable for mass production.
