Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2016/013406
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a peel type blind rivet that can be fastened stably without fastening defects. This blind rivet is equipped with: a rivet main body (10) having a sleeve (11) and a flange (12) at one end of the sleeve; and a mandrel (20) having a slender shaft section (21), a mandrel head part (23) on one end of the shaft section, and a cutting blade part (22) for cutting open the sleeve. The sleeve of the rivet main body has a thick-walled section (15) adjacent to the flange and a thin-walled section (14) provided at the end of the sleeve, and having a larger inner diameter than the thick-walled part. The shaft section of the mandrel has a large-diameter section (31) adjacent to the cutting blade part, a medium-diameter section (33) having a smaller outer diameter than the large-diameter section, a small-diameter section (35) having a smaller outer diameter than the medium-diameter section, and a securing groove (34) between the medium-diameter section and the small-diameter section. When the blind rivet is fastened, the medium-diameter section of the mandrel causes a metal flow of the material of the thick-walled section into the securing groove, and the mandrel can be firmly secured to the rivet main body.
