Abstract:
A block copolymer which is excellent in low-temperature shrinkage, natural shrinkage, rigidity, etc., has an excellent balance among material properties including blocking resistance, unsusceptibility to fusion with hot water, and impact resistance, and is reduced in fish eyes (FE) attributable to gels; or a product of hydrogenation of the block copolymer. Also provided are a heat-shrinkable film or heat-shrinkable multilayered film which comprises the (hydrogenated) block copolymer and is suitable for use in beverage container packaging, cap sealing, etc. The block copolymer comprises a vinylaromatic hydrocarbon and a conjugated diene in a proportion of from 60/40 to 90/10 by weight and has a number-average molecular weight as measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) of 30,000 to 500,000, wherein the vinylaromatic hydrocarbon incorporated in the block copolymer has a block percentage of 10 to 90 wt.%, the vinylaromatic hydrocarbon polymer blocks in the block copolymer have a peak molecular weight in the range of 5,000 to 30,000, and 40 to 80 wt.% of the vinylaromatic hydrocarbon polymer blocks each has a molecular weight of 35,000 or lower.
