Abstract:
A blood pressure measuring device (10) comprising an artery pressing unit for locally pressing any artery in limbs and fingers with an arbitrary variable pressure, a pulsation sensor (22) for detecting pulsation in a position where the artery pressing unit is on an artery or in its periphery position, a mount mechanism (26) for positioning the artery pressing unit and the pulsation sensor (22), a blood pressure determining unit for determining maximal and minimal blood pressures based on detection signals from the pulsation sensor (22) generated according to various pressing forces applied by the artery pressing unit, guide units (34) for guiding the pulsation sensor (22) onto an artery by being provided on the opposite sides of the pulsation sensor (22) and positioned on the opposite sides of the artery, and a periphery-side pressing unit for pressing the artery at a portion on the periphery side of the pulsation sensor (22). The blood pressure measuring device (10) is least likely to give an uncomfortable or disorder feeling to a person examined for a blood pressure.
