Abstract:
The present invention provides a blood pressure monitor and a method for measuring blood pressure by using same, the blood pressure monitor comprising: a parameter (PM) variation calculation unit for calculating the variation of a pulse wave PM, which is generated by the height difference between two arbitrary points at which a pulse wave is measured; and a blood pressure calculation unit for calculating blood pressure from the variation in blood pressure, the variation of the pulse wave PM, and the pulse wave PM, which are generated by the height difference between the two points at which the pulse wave is measured. The present invention relates to a blood pressure monitor for measuring blood pressure by using a blood pressure difference generated by the height difference of measurement positions and the variation of a pulse wave PM according to a change in the measurement positions and, more particularly, to a blood pressure monitor capable of reflecting, in a blood pressure calculation, a quick change in a blood vessel state, which significantly influences a blood pressure measurement, together with a blood flow rate in the blood pressure monitor, thereby enabling blood pressure at a measurement position to be more accurately measured on the basis of the variation of a pulse wave PM for each blood pressure measurement and enabling the accuracy of blood pressure, that is, the reliability of the blood pressure monitor to be dramatically improved.
