Abstract:
A fan unit 11 is provided with a motor, a fan configured to rotate about a predetermined rotating axis by means of power provided by the motor, and a housing 4 accommodating the motor and the fan. The housing 4 includes a plurality of ribs 51 defining a plurality of intake openings 447 through which an airflow generated by the fan passes. Each of the plurality of ribs 51 has a cross section shaped such that, in a flow direction of the airflow, the width gradually increases to a maximum width portion from an upstream end toward a downstream side, and the width gradually decreases toward the downstream side from the maximum width portion to a downstream end. The maximum width portion is positioned on the upstream side of a center line in the flow direction of the cross section of the ribs 51. At least a part of a portion of the cross section that is on the upstream side of the maximum width portion in the flow direction comprises a curved portion.
