Abstract:
An electronic device according to various embodiments comprises: a communication circuit; a processor operatively connected to the communication circuit; and a memory operatively connected to the processor, wherein the memory can store therein instructions, that, when executed, cause the processor: to transmit a first advertisement packet of a first type, having a first period through the communication circuit; in response to receipt of an additional information request signal from an external electronic device that has received the first advertisement packet, to identify scan address information included in the additional information request signal so as to determine a situation of the external electronic device; to transmit a second advertisement packet of a second type, having a second period faster than the first period through the communication circuit, on the basis of the situation of the external electronic device; and to establish a Bluetooth communication connection with the external electronic device, in response to receipt of a connection request signal. Other embodiments are also possible.
