Title:
BOAT PROPELLERS USING THE ENERGY OF WAVES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2001/026961
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention relates to boat propellers which use the energy of waves and are used to move boats, to reduce the pitch thereof and are used as an anchor to fix such boats during a swell. According to the invention, the wave engine includes blades (1, 2, 3) which are sequentially connected to each other by means of support stems (4, 5) and fixing units (6). The engine also contains a converter (7) used to convert the energy of the waves and has the form of a streamlined body with positive buoyancy which comprises a rear stabilizer (8). The converter (7) is connected by guiding stems (9) to the proximal and the distal blades and can be connected to the boat by means of towing stems (11). The distal blade (3) is rigid and can also be connected to the boat by means of one or several towing stems (11). Each blade, except for the most distant one from the converter, can be made of a fabric tape, and the fixing units (6) can have the form of rigid ribs which are connected to the blades along the chord thereof as well as to the support stems which can be made of fabric tapes.
