A first preferred embodiment ( Fig . 1-5 ) according to the present invention relates to a body exercise device 1 . It comprises a guide track 3 with a support carriage 2 mov- ably arranged thereon . The support carriage to is movable in the direction of the arrow A, displaceable or rideable between a first end of the guide track 3 at a support plateau 5 and a second end of the guide track 3 at a support plateau 6 . Such support plateaus are provided for certain preferred embodiments , but optional within the definition of the present invention .

In a general sense , a part of the exercises with resistance that may be performed with a body exercise device according to the present invention or preferred embodiments thereof are performable with use of the support carriage . To this end, it is provided that the support carriage is movable under application of a resistance because of which the person that makes the carriage move needs to exert a force for overcoming of the resistance . In an advantageous manner, the resistance is provided by means of a respective number of resistance members . In a further advantageous manner, the resistance is provided by an array of resistance assemblies 7 , at least one , such as comprising at least one resistance member 9 . In the shown preferred embodiments , in the body exercise device , three resistance assemblies are arranged . A resistance assembly 7 comprises at least one resistance member 9 for providing of a resistance between the guide track 3 and the support carriage 2 . Such a resistance member is preferably an elongated element , such as comprising an elastic band or a resilient element . Herein, a resistance member is arranged in the device in such a manner that a first side is fastenable to the support carriage 2 and another site is fastenable to the guide track 3 .

Advantageously, a resistance member 9 is arrangeable or fastened to the support carriage 2 with at a first side a first sided resistance member coupling element 13 and at a second side a second sided resistance member coupling element 13 ' attached thereto . The respective resistance member coupling element is held by means of a respective first resistance member bearer 21 and a second resistance member bearer 21 ' . The resistance member bearers have as function that these keep the respective resistance member coupling element in for example a coupled state and an uncoupled state . Thereto , the resistance member coupling element is movably arrangeable relative to the resistance member bearer . Thereto , the support carriage or the resistance member bearer comprises a bearer guide that can guide the resistance member coupling elements between the coupled and the uncoupled state .

For the purpose of trans ferring the resistance member coupling elements between the coupled and the uncoupled state , the same comprises data to a surface with a part 23 corresponding with the uncoupled state and a part 22 corresponding with the coupled state . The part 23 is a surface in a first direction and the part 22 is a surface in a second direction . Preferably, the surface 23 is bent in the first direction, directed to or inclined towards the carriage . Further preferably, the surface 22 in the second direction is substantially arranged vertically or inclined towards the carriage to some extent , wherein this last variant to some extent provides a threshold to the trans ferring from the coupled state towards the uncoupled state .

Further preferably, the distance between the resistance member bearer 21 and the resistance member bearer 21 ' is such that the resistance member is brought under a slight base tension when the resistance member is arranged with the first sided resistance member coupling element and the second sided resistance member coupling element between the two resistance member bearers . Preferably, the distance between the resistance member coupling elements in the uncoupled state is somewhat less than in the coupled state . With this , it is advantageously achieved that the base tension in the uncoupled state is determinable such that there is suf ficient tension to arrange the respective resistance member coupling elements in a stable manner to the respective resistance member bearer when the resistance member is in the unused state .

The bearer guide has as a function that the resistance member bearer may be trans ferred from the uncoupled state to the coupled state and back . To this end, a cam 27 , such as a guide cam or tilting cam, is provided that provides a transition between the surface 22 and the surface 23 . By sliding a respective resistance member bearer over the cam and therewith from surface 22 to surface 23 , the resistance member bearer of the uncoupled state is brought to the coupled state . With this , also the resistance member is trans ferred from the unused state to the used state .

In addition to this , the carriage guide track according to the preferred embodiment comprises at least one coupling support , preferably a first sided coupling support 11 at or adj acent to a first end of the guide track and a second sided coupling support 11 ' to or adj acent to a second end of the guide track . With this , the arrangement of the respective coupling support is advantageously such that a respective resistance member bearer with a thereto arranged resistance member coupling element against , adj acent to or next to the respective coupling support is movable or arrangeable by means of a movement of the carriage . Therewith, it is advantageously achieved that with transferring of the resistance member bearer from an uncoupled state to the coupled state , this will also couple with or hook in to the respective coupling support . Therewith, also the resistance member is trans ferred to the used state , perhaps superfluously therefore from the unused state . The coupled state of the resistance member bearer is this similar to the used state of the resistance member and the uncoupled state of the resistance member bearer is therewith similar to the unused state of the resistance member .

In the unused state of the resistance member, it is therefore arranged at or between the first sided resistance member bearer and the second sided resistance member bearer that according to the preferred embodiment are arranged at the respective first side of the support carriage and the respective second side of the support carriage .

In the use state of the resistance member, it is arranged at a side of the support carriage at the respective resistance member bearer and at the other side of the support carriage also coupled with the respective coupling support . Alternatively, this may be described in that in the unused state of the resistance member, the same or the resistance member coupling element thereof purportedly, such as for example substantially vertical to the surface 23 , is arranged relative to the respective resistance member bearer . In the unused state of the resistance member , the same or the resistance member coupling element thereof forwardly, such as substantially vertical to the surface 22 , arranged relative to the respective resistance member bearer in this last case , it is coupled with the respective coupling support .

As seen in the length direction of the device , the preferred embodiment comprises 3 resistance assemblies 7 . A resistance assembly comprises preferably at least one coupling support 11 , resistance member with at least one resistance member coupling element 13 and at least one resistance member bearer . Preferably, a resistance assembly comprises two coupling supports 11 , 11 ' , a resistance member 9 , two resistance member coupling elements 13 , 13 ' and to resistance member bearer' s 21 . With this , in an advantageous manner, a two-sided functioning of the exercise device is reali zed, such as by the twosidedly coupleable resistance . When at least one resistance member coupling element at one side of the carriage is brought in the downward state and therefore the respective resistance member is fastened to the respective coupling support, the resistance member provides resistance when the support carriage is displaced against the resistance force of the resistance member . During execution of an exercise under resistance , this perspective resistance provides a force component to the exercise . Under application of three resistance members with each their own resistance force , this provides six di f ferent reali zable resistance forces .

With this , it is advantageous that the resistance members are arranged between the guide track and the carriage such that these are at least partly enclosed during use of the device . Only when performing the exercise , a part of the resistance members is visible . This provides for example as an advantage that also during execution of the exercise it is visible what resistance members are used .

As seen in the transverse direction, the coupling 8 comprises between the support carriage to and the guide track 3 a combination of the elements of the resistance member bearer, the resistance member coupling element and the coupling support . This provides , by means of latching on of respective resistance member coupling elements 13 to the coupling support 11 , particularly a coupling plate 10 and a gripping surface 10 ' thereof , a connection between the support carriage 2 and the carriage guide track .

The resistance member coupling element 13 is at any time connected with a respective resistance member by means of fastening member 18 at the side of the support carriage . The resistance member coupling element rests against the resistance member bearer 21 , in particular against the respective surfaces 22 , 23 while the same is in the uncoupled body coupled state . Thereto , the resistance member coupling element 13 comprises a flange 26 . At the other side of the resistance member coupling element , there is a coupling slot 14 forming the gripping surface 10 ' with which the resistance member coupling element latches onto the coupling plate 10 . The coupling plate 10 extends to three di f ferent positions in each opening 59 that is reali zed in the bottom of the carriage guide track such as the profile as comprised in the carriage guide track . A dampening member 17 , such as made from a hidden or plastic material is arranged in the opening for the purpose of absorbing forces and preventing of noise .

This hook-on plate 72 serves the purpose of fastening the device to a wall by means of hook openings 73 that are arranged at both sides in the hook-on plate such that both the first end and the second end of the carriage guide track may be arranged at the upper side during fastening to the wall . To this end, a wall mounting plate 74 with hook on elements 75 that are shaped with a generally mushroom shape with a flat disk on a bearing bar that extends from the wall mounting plate is provided .

Furthermore , the profile as comprised in the carriage guide track comprises two fastening channels 62 for attaching thereto of at least one accessory, such as a cord guide 76 . This fastening is performed in a similar manner as with the fastening strips 61 ' by means of fastening strips 62 ' and balls 77 . This cord guide is arranged near the first end of the carriage guide track . In a similar manner, a further cord guide is provided at the second end of the carriage guide track .

The first end of the carriage guide track and the second end of the carriage guide track comprises a support plateau 5 respectively 6 . The support plateau is supported by the carriage guide track by means of a mounting thereto . The support plateau comprises a frame and along the edge a similar gripping edge as the support carriage . Furthermore , the support plateau comprises a support layer 51 ' for supporting thereon of a limb, such as a foot thereof or a hand thereof of a user during performing of an exercise .

Furthermore , at least one support bracket is provided with two sides 19 , 19 ' , wherein the support bracket comprises two handgrips 20 , 20 ' .

A resistance member coupling element is preferably embodied as two halves , such as by means of a production operation such as inj ection molding . These both halves , of which in fig . 6 and 8 one hal f is shown at the middle position are attachable to each other by means of a click connection and/or a screw connection .

For the purpose of providing of a securing of the resistance member coupling elements relative to the coupling support , a backwardly inclining angle of the surface 10 is provided . Such a backwardly inclining angle of the surface than is for example combinable with an inclination in the surface 10 ' of the coupling support .

The guide track preferably comprises a profile , such as an extrusion profile , preferably comprising at least one guide channel and/or at least one guide surface for guiding of a guide wheel of the support carriage . The embodiment as profile or extrusion profile provides as an advantage that several features of the present invention or preferred embodiment thereof may be manufacturable by means of an advantageous manufacturing process .
