Abstract:
The present invention provides a real time Bragg peak detector comprising: an emitter configured to emit a particle beam toward a target area in a first direction so as to cause emission of electromagnetic radiation from the target area; a first detection module which includes first scintillators and a stack of first photo-sensors connected to the first scintillators and is configured to detect the electromagnetic radiation and convert same into a first signal; a second detection module which includes second scintillators and a stack of second photo-sensors connected to the second scintillators and is configured to detect the electromagnetic radiation and convert same into a second signal; and a coincidence detection circuit configured to determine a termination point of the particle beam in the first direction on the basis of the first signal and the second signal.
