Abstract:
A cantilever brake for a bicycle whereby the adjustable magnitude of the restoring force of a return spring can be confirmed from the outside, wherein a brake arm (5) is supported on a supporting shaft (3) mounted on the body (1) of a bicycle so as to be urged in a normally expanding direction by a return spring (15). One end (15A) of the return spring (15) is locked to a hole (16) of the brake arm (5), and other end (15B) is allowed to protrude to the outside from a spring cap (18) connected/locked to the shaft (3), whereby the restoring force of the return spring (15) is adjusted by selecting the position of the protruding end in the circumferential direction with an operation knob (25).
