Abstract:
Disclosed is a brake device as a mechanical device for braking a rotating shaft relative
to a stationary member, the rotating shaft being rotated by a motor, or more particularly,
a brake device where a non-braking position is obtained by supply of compressed
air acting against urging force of a compression spring. The brake device has
friction linings (22a, 22a) on both sides of a brake disk (22) fixed to a brake hub
(21) that is fixed to a rotating shaft (7). The brake device has the non-braking
position and a braking position. At the non-braking position, pressing sections
(23a, 24a) of a pair of pressing plates (23, 24) are almost uniformly separated
from the friction linings (22a, 22a). At the braking position, the pressing sections
(23a, 24a) of the pair of pressing plates (23, 24) are almost uniformly pressed
against the friction linings (22a, 22a).
