Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a branched hyaluronic acid the moisture-retaining properties of which are improved without any increase in viscosity. This branched hyaluronic acid is characterized in that glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine are alternately bonded by β-1,3 bonds and β-1,4 bonds to a compound (S) having a total of three or more of at least one species of base out of bases represented in any of general formulae (1) to (4).
