Title:
BRANCHED POLYARYLENE SULFIDE RESIN, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND USE THEREOF AS POLYMERIC MODIFIER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2006/068159
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A branched polyarylene sulfide resin which has a melt viscosity of 10.0×104 to 40.0×104 Pa·s as measured at a temperature of 330°C and a shear rate of 2 sec-1, an average particle diameter of 50-2,000 µm, and a melt viscoelasticity tan&dgr of 0.10-0.30 as measured at a temperature of 310°C and an angular velocity of 1 rad/sec; and a process for producing the resin which comprises polymerizing a sulfur source with a dihaloaromatic compound in an organic amide solvent, adding a polyhaloaromatic compound and a phase-separating agent to the polymerization reaction mixture at the time when the conversion of the dihaloaromatic compound has reached 80% or higher, and subsequently heating the resultant mixture and continuing the polymerization reaction.
