Abstract:
A breaker 1 of the present invention comprises: a fixed piece 2 having a fixed contact 21; a movable piece 4 having a movable contact 41; a heat sensitive element 5 that deforms following a change in temperature to move the movable piece 4 to a cutoff state from a conduction state; a PTC thermistor 6 that establishes conduction between the fixed piece 2 and the movable piece 4 when the movable piece 4 is in the cutoff state; and a case 10 that accommodates the fixed piece 2, the movable piece 4, and the heat sensitive element 5. The heat sensitive element 5 is disposed between the movable piece 4 and the PTC thermistor 6. The case 10 has a bottom surface 72. When the side of the movable contact 41 is made to be the front side in the longitudinal direction of the movable piece 4, the PTC thermistor 6 is accommodated in the case 10 in a backward leaning orientation with respect to the bottom surface 72.
