Abstract:
The present invention relates to a breathalyzer, which can accurately measure blood alcohol concentration even if the value of an electrical signal outputted from an alcohol sensor of the breathalyzer is very small. The present invention provides a breathalyzer comprising: a sample gas chamber in which exhalation flows; a detection unit which is arranged inside the sample gas chamber, and which outputs an electrical signal according to the alcohol concentration included in the exhalation; and a controller for receiving the electrical signal from the detection unit, wherein the controller includes: a first amplification unit for amplifying the electric signal by a predetermined A times; a second amplification unit for amplifying the electrical signal by a predetermined B times, the B value being greater than the A value; a first integration unit for acquiring a first integral value (IA), which is an integral value based on the time of the electrical signal amplified in the first amplification unit; a second integration unit for acquiring a second integral value (IB), which is an integral value based on the time of the electrical signal amplified in the second amplification unit; a comparison unit for comparing the first integral value (IA) with a predetermined minimum limit value (VL), and comparing the second integral value (IB) with a predetermined maximum limit value (VH); and a calculation unit which calculates the alcohol concentration by using the first integral value (IA) if the comparison unit determines that the second integral value (IB) exceeds the maximum limit value (VH), and which calculates the alcohol concentration by using the second integral value (IB) if the comparison unit determines that the first integral value (IB) is less than the minimum limit value (VL).
