Title:
BROADBAND LIGHT SOURCE COMPRISING A MICROSTRUCTURED OPTICAL FIBER FOR ENDOSCOPIC AND FLUORESCENCE MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION APPARATUSES, PARTICULARLY SPECIAL OPTICAL BIOPSY DEVICES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2005119355
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a system for creating a broadband spectrum, which can be used especially as a light source for short coherence interferometry, confocal microscopy, endoscopic short coherence interferometry, and endoscopic confocal microscopy. Said system comprises a laser, particularly a laser diode (2), for generating a short light pulse having the wavelength ?P, a highly non-linear microstructured optical fiber (1) which is provided with a zero dispersion of the group velocity near the wavelength ?P and an anomalous dispersion, and means for injecting the light pulse into the microstructured optical fiber (1).
