Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel building pillar structure which can prevent or minimize damage of a building during an earthquake. The pillar comprises: upper and lower pillar portions (10, 20); and a shock-absorbing structure (30) provided between the upper and lower pillar portions (10, 20) and supporting the upper pillar portion (10). The shock-absorbing structure (30) comprises: an upper support plate (31) fixed to the bottom surface of the upper pillar portion (10); a lower support plate (32) fixed to the top surface of the lower pillar portion (20); and a compression coil spring (33) fixed between the upper support plate (31) and lower support plate (32) so as to vertically extend. Therefore, when the pillar vibrates due to an earthquake and the like, the compression coil spring (33) absorbs the shock by expanding and contracting and thus can prevent any damages to the pillar.
