A burner (100) and a gas appliance. The burner (100) comprises a base cup (102) and an annular flame nozzle (104) arranged on the base cup (102). The base cup (102) comprises an air inlet channel (124) and a single nozzle (112) in communication with the air inlet channel (124) and arranged upwards. The flame nozzle (104) comprises a single Venturi tube (138) arranged opposite the single nozzle (112). A gap is formed between the flame nozzle (104) and the base cup (102), thus allowing primary air to enter the Venturi tube (138) from the gap to be mixed with a fuel gas sprayed into the Venturi tube (138) from the single nozzle (112) to form a gaseous mixture. The flame nozzle (104) forms an inner ring mixing cavity (144), an outer ring mixing cavity (158), and a middle channel (150). The middle channel (150) is in communication with the inner ring mixing cavity (144) and the outer ring mixing cavity (158). The inner ring mixing cavity (144) is connected to the Venturi tube (138). A flame cover (106) covers the inner ring mixing cavity (144), the outer ring mixing cavity (158), and the middle channel (150).
