Abstract:

A burst plate for an inflator capable of making it hard to produce fragments and shieldingly closing a clearance between a portion filled with pressurizing medium and held at a high pressure and a portion not filled with the pressurizing medium and held at a normal pressure in an inflator for expanding an expanded article with the pressurizing medium, wherein the peripheral edge part thereof is fixed for installation into the inflator, one or two or more of (a) the ratio of a diameter to a thickness (diameter&sol thickness) is 14 to 50, (b) a tensile strength is 880 to 1100 N&sol mm², and (c) an elongation is 25% or higher are provided to the burst plate, and the remaining part thereof excluding the fixed peripheral edge part falls down as an assembly when a pressure is applied thereto.
