Abstract:
Provided is a C-type retaining ring tool or the like which makes it possible to smoothly mount a C-type retaining ring in a retaining ring groove, and to minimize the labor required to mount the C-type retaining ring in the retaining ring groove. This tool (1) is equipped with: a pair of arms (12a), (12b) which include a pair of pin parts on the tip end side thereof; a pair of grips (13a), (13b); a connecting mechanism (14) which connects the pair of arms (12a), (12b) and the pair of grips (13a), (13b) to one another; and a retaining ring-pressing means which has a projecting part (30) which projects from the connecting mechanism (14) side toward the pin part side, and a pressing part (40) connected to the end section of the projecting part (30) on the side thereof opposite the connecting mechanism (14) side thereof. The pressing part (40) includes a supporting/pressing surface which is capable of at least partially contacting part of the end surface of the C-type retaining ring (70) on the pin insertion side thereof when the pair of pin parts are inserted into a pair of tool insertion holes (78a), (78b). Thus, it is possible to achieve a retaining ring-holding state in which the pair of pin parts are inserted into the pair of tool insertion holes (78a), (78b) and at least part of the supporting/pressing surface contacts part of said end surface.
