Abstract:
The cable connection device of the present invention comprises a closure which is formed enveloping a splice organizer unit for connecting cables and is moved one-way or two- ways along the cables to be combined with cable divergence stopcocks. The cable connection device of the present invention protects the splice organizer unit during repair of the cable splice organizer unit of a distribution line, and the formed closure is moved one-way or two- ways along the cable, and the divergence stopcocks and the closure can be separated by one-touch without a fastening device such as a bolt, so working is easy and stability is excellent.

Claims

[1] A cable connection device comprising: a splice organizer unit for electrically and mechanically connecting a plurality of cables, and a closure into which said splice organizer unit is inserted and which can be moved lengthwise of said cables. [2] The connection device of claim 1, wherein said closure is a cylinder with the inside being hollow. [3] The connection device of claim 1, wherein said closure further comprises divergence stopcocks which are mounted at both ends of said splice organizer unit and have retaining portions into which a plurality of cables pass to be fixed. [4] The connection device of claim 3, wherein said closure and said divergence stopcocks are made of any one material selected from metal, plastics, plastic synthetic resin, polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride. [5] The connection device of claim 3, wherein said closure and said divergence stopcocks are combined with clamps. [6] The connection device of claim 3, wherein said closure and said divergence stopcocks are combined with clamps through a sealing unit placed between said closure and divergence stopcocks. [7] The connection device of claim 5 or claim 6, wherein said clamp is composed of two clamp bodies, and one end of said two clamp bodies is connected by a hinge so as to combine the two bodies such that they are capable of pivoting with respect to each other and the other end is connected by a clamp hinge. [8] The connection device of claim 3, wherein said closure and said divergence stopcocks are combined in mesh with the combining protuberance formed on the inner circumference of said closure and the combining slot formed on the outer circumference of said divergence stopcocks corresponding to said combining protuberance. [9] The connection device of claim 1, wherein said closure can be moved one-way along said cable.

Description THE CABLE CLOSURE WHICH IT CONNECTING

Technical Field

[1] The present invention relates to a cable connection device whereby a cable splice organizer unit is protected and it is easy to handle a closure of a device in a new cable installation section or for connecting branches thereto. Background Art

[2] A conventional cable connection device is a separated linear type as shown in Fig. 1, in which the upper portion and lower portion are separated and the upper and lower portions were fixed using bolts and nuts.

[3] However, the separated linear type cable connection device having the upper and lower portions is not easy to work on because when the worker climbs up the pole to repair a splice organizer unit in it he has to carry tools for separating bolts and nuts. Another problem is that if the worker drops a tool on ground by mistake while working it could injure people or damage vehicles, etc. positioned on the ground.

[4] Further, because the separated linear type cable connection device having the upper and lower portions needs a waterproofing function while maintaining a fixed shape, thick and heavy material should be used. And due to the weight of bolts and nuts, there is a difficulty in installing the pole.

[5] In order to solve the above problems, if a dome-type cable connection device of Fig.

2 is used instead of the linear type cable connection device in which the upper portion and lower portion are separated, tools, nuts and bolts are not necessary and work is easier than the conventional linear type cable connection device.

[6] However, the dome-type cable connection device has a possibility of danger of the closure dropping because the worker has to separate the closure during cable work, and has inconvenience of generating a remaining length of the cable on the pole because the cable lead-in and lead-out directions are identical.

[7] In addition, it has not only the problem of obstructing the beauty of the town environment due to maintenance of the remaining length of the cable but also the problem of causing a danger to pedestrians.

Disclosure of Invention

Technical Problem

[8] In order to solve the aforementioned problems of the prior art, the present invention has an object to provide a cable connection device whereby the cable splice organizer unit is protected by the cable connection device, and the closure is separated and moved one-way or two- ways along the cable when the closure is separated to insert

another cable into the cable connection device, for example, so that it is possible to install the cable connection device without extra fixing devices such as bolts and nuts to protect the cable connection and improve working efficiency as it makes it easy to handle the closure when separating the closure of the cable connection device. Technical Solution

[9] In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a cable connection device comprising: a splice organizer unit for electrically and mechanically connecting a plurality of cables, and a closure into which the splice organizer unit is inserted and which can be moved lengthwise direction of the cable.

[10] In the present invention, the closure may be a cylinder with the inside being hollow.

[11] Preferably, the closure further comprises divergence stopcocks which are mounted at both ends of the splice organizer unit and have retaining portions into which a plurality of cables pass to be fixed.

[12] Preferably, the closure and divergence stopcocks are made of any one material selected from metal, plastics, plastic synthetic resin, polypropylene.

[13] In the present invention, the closure and divergence stopcocks may be combined with clamps.

[14] Preferably, the closure and divergence stopcocks are combined with clamps through a sealing unit placed between the closure and divergence stopcocks.

[15] Preferably, the clamp is composed of two clamp bodies, and one end of the two clamp bodies is connected by a hinge so as to combine the two bodies such that they are capable of pivoting with respect to each other and the other end is connected by a clamp hinge.

[16] Preferably, the closure and divergence stopcocks are combined in mesh with the combining protuberance formed on the inner circumference of the closure and the combining slot formed on the outer circumference of the divergence stopcocks corresponding to the combining protuberance.

[17] Preferably, the closure can be moved one-way along the cable.

Advantageous Effects

[18] According to the present invention, it is possible to move the closure of the cable connection device one-way or two- ways along the cable, and the closure that composes the cable connection device and both ends of the clamp for combining the fixed portion are connected by a coupling line to be arranged across the cable, so that it is possible to improve work easiness and stability by preventing an accident due to the dropping of tools because the worker need not keep the closure and clamp separately when he is working to separate the closure .

[19] In addition, because the remaining length of the cable is not generated outside the

connection device as the remaining length of the cable is kept in the space between the splice organizer unit and the divergence stopcocks in the connection device and the space below the splice organizer unit, various effects such as improved beauty of the town and improved safety of pedestrians are created, so that it can be used in various industrial areas. Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention

[36] Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. When inserting reference numerals into the constituents in the respective drawings, although the constituents are illustrated in different drawings, so far as the constituents are the same, they are described to have the same reference numeral, where possible.

[37] The detailed description for the well-known function and constitution, judged to make the gist of the invention obscure, will be omitted.

[38] Referring to Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, the cable connection device of the present invention comprises a splice organizer unit 110 for connecting cables 100, divergence stopcocks 120 as a fixing means and a closure 130.

[39] The splice organizer unit 110 as a connecting means connects a plurality of cables

100 passing in and out through the retaining portions 122, so that the length of the cables 100 can be extended to a desired length.

[40] At this time, the cables 100 in use include a variety of cables such as general communication line cable and optical cable, but it is preferable to use optical cable.

[41] The divergence stopcocks 120 includes a plurality of retaining portions 122, and it is positioned on the cables 100 passing in and out through the retaining portions 122, and can be positioned in pairs with one on each side at a predetermined interval with the center on the splice organizer unit 110.

[42] In addition, as the divergence stopcocks 120 are formed at a predetermined interval with the center on the splice organizer unit 110, it is possible to install in the connection device the remaining length of the cable that was positioned outside the conventional connection device. More specifically, the remaining length of the cable can be placed in the space between splice organizer unit 110 and divergence stopcocks 120 or the space below the splice organizer unit 110, or the remaining length of the cable can be placed in the splice organizer unit itself.

[43] The a closure 130 is arranged by enveloping splice organizer unit 110 for connecting the cables 100 and the cables 100 passing in and out through a plurality of the retaining portions 122, and it can be simply combined with the divergence stopcocks 120 without an extra combining device.

[44] As a method of mounting the closure 130 on the divergence stopcocks 120, there is a method using a clamp and a one-touch method in which slots and protuberances are used to apply force to push and turn the closure to combine and fix the slots and protuberances. For clarity this is shown in Figs. 5 to 9.

[45] The closure 130 can be formed with various materials including but not limited to metal, plastics, plastic synthetic resin, polypropylene (PP) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC), more preferably with inexpensive and light materials such as PP.

[46] And the closure 130 is formed as a hollow cylinder, and the cross section of the closure can be embodied in a cylinder such as circular, elliptical or polygonal shape. As mentioned above, the closure can be moved two- ways or one-way lengthwise of the cable 100 for separation work while the splice organizer unit 110 is positioned inside the closure .

[47] More specifically, the closure 130 is formed as a cylinder with both ends open and it can be separated and moved one-way or two- ways from the splice organizer unit 110 along the cable 100, and the separated and moved closure 130 is fixed across the cable,

so working efficiency can be improved because the worker does not keep the closure separately during work.

[48] According to the present invention, since the closure 130 is combined with the divergence stopcocks 120 without a separate combining device, it can remove the inconvenience that the worker must climb up the pole carrying tools for work on the pole, accordingly an accident due to the falling of tools can be prevented.

[49] In addition, it is possible to prevent a falling accident due to the falling of the upper portion or lower portion resulting from a broken hinge, which may occur in a closure 130 (as shown in Fig. 1) of conventional cable connection device that is separated into the upper portion and lower portion and combined with a hinge, and it is possible to solve the inconvenience of exchanging the cable connection device due to a broken hinge.

[50] Moreover, because it is moved one-way or two- ways along the cable, it can be pushed along and placed across the cable without the necessity of holding or keeping the closure separately for repair of the cable connection device as in the conventional dome-type cable connection device, so it is possible to improve working efficiency as well as remove the danger due to falling thereof.

[51] Figs. 5 to 9 are perspective views and sectional views showing the combining of the closure and the divergence stopcocks of the cable connection device according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[52] Referring to Fig. 5 and Fig. 6, the cable connection device is composed by using a clamp 400 and a sealing unit 410 that are used in the conventional dome-type cable connection device. The closure 130 of the cable connection device of the present invention is composed of a material identical with the material composing the conventional dome-type cable connection device, and the existing clamp 400 and sealing unit 410 are used, so a cost-saving effect can be shown.

[53] The clamp 400 is composed of two clamp bodies. One end of the clamp bodies is connected by hinge so as to combine the two bodies such that they are capable of pivoting with respect to each other, and holes are formed on the other ends of the clamp bodies opposed to the connected ends.

[54] And because when the worker separates the closure 130 of the cable connection device from the divergence stopcocks 120 he inserts the clamp hinge 402 in the holes, so that the clamp 400 is placed over the cable 100 by the clamp hinge 402 during separation work, the worker does not have to keep the clamp 400 separately and accordingly easiness of working can be improved.

[55] The sealing unit 410 prevents occurrence of slipping and the penetration of moisture into the closure 130 when the closure 130 and the divergence stopcocks 120 are combined to make it possible to combine the closure 130 and the divergence stopcocks

120 securely, and can be formed with materials including but not limited to silicon, rubber and synthetic resin. More preferably, the sealing unit can be formed as an O- ring.

[56] Fig. 7 is a sectional view showing a state in which the closure 130 and the divergence stopcocks 120 are securely combined through the sealing unit 410. A combining slot 430 is defined by a combining protuberance 420 formed at both ends of the closure 130, and the same combining slot is formed at outer circumference of the divergence stopcocks 120 so as to make the combining of the clamp 400 easier.

[57] And the shapes of the closure 130 and the divergence stopcocks 120 can be designed variously according to the thickness, material, kind and size of the sealing unit 410.

[58] Fig. 8 is a sectional view showing a combined state of the closure 130 and the divergence stopcocks 120 without extra combining devices such as the clamp and sealing unit. A combining slot 430 is formed on the inner circumference of the closure 130 and a screw threaded combining protuberance 420 corresponding to the combining slot is formed on the outer stepped circumference of the divergence stopcocks 120 so as to fix the combining slot 430 and a screw threaded combining protuberance 420 by a predetermined number of turns.

[59] At this time, the one-touch method with the number of turns being one achieves the fixing by applying force to lift up the closure 130 to combine the combining protuberance 420 and the combining slot 430. This method, which utilizes an existing form for combining a conventional lid and container for cosmetics, can improve the working efficiency of the worker.

[60] Referring to Fig. 9, the cross section of the divergence stopcocks 120 is formed in a trapezoidal cone having a screw threaded combining protuberance 420, and on the inner circumference of the closure 130 are formed the screw threaded combining slot 430 for combining with the screw threaded combining protuberance 420 of the divergence stopcocks 120 in a form of conical helix so as to make it easy to combine the divergence stopcocks 120 and the closure 130.

[61] In addition, the above method can compose a cable connection device by forming the divergence stopcocks 120 and an inner circumference of the closure 130 that exist in the direction where the closure does not move one-way.

[62] The above drawings are for describing the methods of combining the closure and divergence stopcocks of the cable connection device of the present invention by considering one embodiment, but they are not limited to this and can be variously composed by a person skilled in the art. Also, the shape and size of the combining protuberance and the combining slot shown in the drawings can be composed differently by such a person skilled in the art.

Industrial Applicability

[63] According to the present invention, it is possible to move the closure of the cable connection device one-way or two-ways along the cable, and the closure that composes the cable connection device and both ends of the clamp for combining the fixed portion are connected by a coupling line to be arranged across the cable, so that it is possible to improve work easiness and stability by preventing an accident due to the dropping of tools because the worker need not keep the closure and clamp separately when he is working to separate the closure.

[64] In addition, because the remaining length of the cable is not generated outside the connection device as the remaining length of the cable is kept in the space between the splice organizer unit and the divergence stopcocks in the connection device and the space below the splice organizer unit, various effects such as improved beauty of the town and improved safety of pedestrians are created, so that it can be used in various industrial areas.

[65] Although the present invention has been described in connection with the exemplary embodiments illustrated in the drawings, it is only illustrative. It will be understood by those skilled in the art that various modifications and equivalents can be made to the present invention. Therefore, the true technical scope of the present invention should be defined by the appended claims.
