Abstract:
A cable length calculation system (10) is provided with a controller (20) and a plurality of communication devices (30) that are connected to each other via a cable (40). A measurement master, which is a given communication device (30) from among the plurality of communication devices (30), counts the number of clock signals output by an oscillator during a period from when a measurement packet is transmitted by the measurement master to when a response packet is received by the same, as a first number. A measurement slave, which is a communication device (30) different from the measurement master from among the plurality of communication devices (30), counts the number of clock signals output by the oscillator during a period from when the measurement packet, which has been transmitted from the measurement master, is received by the measurement slave to when the response packet is transmitted by the same, as a second number. The controller (20) calculates the length of the cable (40) between the measurement master and the measurement slave from the first number and the second number.
