Abstract:
With an acceleration sensor (22), to be calibration-evaluated, fixed to the end surface (22) of a metal rod (1), a plurality of missiles (3) are allowed to impinge to the other end surface (2) of the metal bar at a specified time interval to generate an elastic wave pulse in the metal bar. Dynamic displacement, velocity and acceleration generated in a direction perpendicular to the end surface during a process in which the generated elastic wave pulse reaches and is reflected off the acceleration sensor-fixed end surface, are measured by the acceleration sensor, and also measured and computed by a strain gage (25) pasted on the side surface of the metal rod or by a laser interferometer (24) to determine a corrected acceleration, and the corrected acceleration is compared with an output from the acceleration sensor to thereby calibration-evaluate the acceleration sensor.
