The purpose of the invention is to reduce the size of a pneumatic caliper brake device. A caliper main body (2), branched so that the distal end is positioned on the outer sides of both outer peripheral side surfaces of a vehicle wheel (3), is attached to a carriage (4) so as to be capable of sliding in the axial direction of the vehicle wheel (3). An actuated lever (9) is provided, one end of which being caused to rotate via a connecting link (8) by the reciprocating motion of a rod (7a) of a pneumatic actuator (7), the rotation being centered around an eccentric shaft (10) rotatably supported on one of the branches of the caliper main body (2). One brake shoe (12a) is rotatably attached to the inner surface of the distal end of a caliper level (11) integrally attached to an eccentric part (10a) formed on the eccentric shaft (10), the brake shoe being capable of sliding relative to an anchor pin (14) attached to the caliper main body (2). Another brake shoe (12b) is attached to the inner surface of the distal end of the other branch of the caliper main body (2).
