Abstract:
Provided is a cam mechanism capable of adjusting a preload without moving the central axis of a camshaft. According to the present invention, there is provided a cam mechanism comprising a base, a roller gear and a camshaft, wherein the roller gear and the camshaft are rotatably supported on the base, the roller gear comprises a turret and a plurality of cam followers mounted on the outer circumference thereof, the camshaft comprises a tapered rib having first and second tapered ribs, and a shaft portion, the first and second tapered ribs are engaged with respective cam followers, the first and second tapered ribs are configured to be rotatable relative to each other about the rotation axis of the shaft portion at the time of preload adjustment when the first and second tapered ribs are pressed against the cam followers, and after the preload adjustment, the second tapered rib is fixed relative to the shaft portion and the first and second tapered ribs are rendered non-rotatable relative to each other.
