Abstract:
Provided are a camera system capable of performing self-calibration even when a camera's angle of view or orientation changes and a self-calibration method therefor. The camera system is characterized by comprising: a real image input unit for inputting an image captured by a camera; a feature point analysis unit for analyzing feature points acquired from the real image input unit; a parameter calculation unit that identifies the position of a corresponding feature point among the feature points in the image, calculates the parameters of the camera required for performing calibration at a plurality of positions in a photography site using the feature point information, and stores in a table the parameters with the position information; a valid calibration position estimation unit that inputs the information of the target position set in the photography site, and estimates one or a plurality of valid calibration positions that are valid for performing the calibration, using the parameters at the plurality of positions in the photography site stored in the table; a camera control path estimation unit that estimates a camera control path from the present camera position to the target position through the valid calibration position on the basis of the one or the plurality of valid calibration positions and the target position; a camera control unit for controlling the camera in accordance with the estimated path; and a parameter estimation unit for estimating the parameters at the target position using a camera control value and the valid calibration positions.
