Description:
Camp fire frame

This invention relates to a camp fire frame consisting of wooden strips piled up on top of each other.

"Instant camp fires" are built up of wooden strips and branches, and require in addition a solid grate or any other supporting frame for the kettle or frying pan. The object of the invention is to provide a camp fire frame of a new type, which is easy to transport and open up for use, acting simultaneously as a burning fire and a portable frame. The camp fire frame in accordance with the invention is characterised in that the wooden strips make up a square, rectangular or other similar frame, where the ends of the wooden strips have been tied up for instance with a paper string such that the frame can be folded up into a kit for transport and opened up as a frame for use.

The invention will be described below by means of an example and with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which figure 1 is a lateral view of the camp fire frame and figure 2 is a top view of the camp fire frame.

The rectangular wooden strips 1 represent hard and dry wooden strips piled up to form a square, as illustrated by the figures. A required number of additional layers are piled up depending on the burning time desired for the "instant camp fire". The square pile is tied up with paper string 2 at the strip ends. The prototype comprises a parquet lath having a length of about 15 cm and a width of about 2 cm. The folded- up square can thus even be carried in your inside breast pocket. The purpose of the invention is to enable a small camp fire to be transported in a small space for instance on a hike. The small camp fire burns for about 20 minutes, so that you can make coffee or fry sausages on it. The camp fire of tl e invention is packed in a paper bag which serves as an igniter. It takes about one minute to light the fire. The camp fire in accordance with the invention is intended to avoid carrying logs on a short hike or at a summer cottage, for instance. The camp fire is well suited for being sold at service stations and similar. The material must be hard, e.g. parquet material, in order to burn with adequate efficiency. The dimensions of the lath may be varied depending on the purpose of use. A hard parquet lath or any other hardwood lath burns efficiently despite its small size. Thus the small size does not involve any problem in terms of the invention. The camp fire in accordance with the invention has been confirmed to work in practical experiments. The invention does

not aim to replace a big camp fire, but provides a small camp fire which can be burnt in any situation. Moreover, the camp fire in accordance with the invention leaves nothing but ashes behind in nature.
